Built-in kitchen units - can be implemented in any kitchen!

Fitted kitchens in the form of kitchen units are purchased particularly often, along with L-shaped kitchens. The reason is obvious: they can be implemented in any space, because they take up only one wall of the room.

But what are we actually talking about when we talk about a "fitted kitchen"?

The fitted kitchen - a long history...

...and it begins in 1926, the year in which the so-called "Frankfurt Kitchen" is introduced to the market. It was designed by architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky and is considered the archetype of the fitted kitchen.

The basic principle of the fitted kitchen is to increase efficiency: work processes are to be optimized, making cooking much easier. The motto is: short working distances!

Base and wall cabinets are arranged so that all kitchen utensils are quickly at hand.

This principle has been perfected over the decades, which is why it has endured to this day - and so has the built-in kitchenette!

One kitchenette - many possibilities

Even if at first glance kitchen units usually look uniformly structured, there are still many ways to design and equip them individually and refined.

For example, a lot of different organization systems can be integrated. Whether cutlery inserts, drawer organizers or apothecary cabinets - there are no limits to the storage space wonders.

Individual accents can also be set with kitchen backsplashes instead of a classic tile backsplash. Create contrasts through color, structure or motifs and give your built-in kitchen unit a special eye-catcher!

Speaking of contrasts, a deliberate mix of materials in the sink and faucet area can also make a kitchenette interesting and varied.

Fitted kitchens in different styles

In terms of kitchen style, you can also give your kitchen unit its own look. Modern, handleless, classic, designor country kitchens - everything is possible.

Thus, even the most seemingly simple kitchen unit becomes an individual eye-catcher. The different styles offer a lot of possibilities to dynamically design the wall layout: Different structures, wall cabinets, surfaces or colors can be combined and arranged in a versatile way.
